Beat the Lunar New Year Shutdown: A 2027 Stock-Up Guide for Pedestal Basin Importers

If you import bathroom fixtures from mainland China, you already know the pattern: every late January or February, the country's manufacturing base goes quiet for the Lunar New Year holiday. In 2027, Lunar New Year falls on 6 February. Most factories close for two to three weeks around that date — and the freight and customs queues on either side of the break stretch delivery timelines even further.

For a distributor or importer of pedestal basins, that means one thing: the orders you place in December and January decide whether your shelves stay full through Q1. This guide breaks down the deadline math and how a DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) supplier fits into it.

1. Why the shutdown hits basins harder than you think

Pedestal basins are bulky, fragile, and freight-intensive. When production pauses and the post-holiday shipping backlog builds, a "standard 3-week lead time" can quietly become 6–8 weeks by the time the container actually lands. Importers who order in early February often don't see stock until March.

The practical rule we give our trade accounts: place orders at least 6–8 weeks before the holiday if you want delivery before the shutdown, or accept that anything ordered in the two weeks beforehand will ship after the break.

2. The 2027 order window, in plain terms

  • Now – early January 2027: Best window. Orders ship under normal DDP terms, arrive well before the holiday lull.
  • Early – mid January 2027: Still workable, but tighten your forecast — this is the last call for pre-holiday delivery.
  • Late January – February: Expect CNY-delayed fulfillment. Plan for stock to land in March.

If your market is Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, or Vietnam, the DDP price you're quoted already includes freight and duties — so the holiday math is simply about timing, not surprise landed-cost spikes.

3. How we keep your Q1 supply stable

As a factory-direct supplier of artificial-stone pedestal basins, our production follows the same national calendar — so we plan around it rather than getting caught by it:

  • 14 pedestal basin designs in stock year-round, so popular SKUs can ship without waiting on a production run.
  • EXW from US$172; door-to-door DDP available on request depending on design, delivered to your address in the covered Asian markets — no freight or customs variable to re-quote after the holiday.
  • 2–4 week lead time for in-stock units, which is short enough to still catch the pre-holiday window if you act in December or early January.
  • All units are artificial stone / solid surface, finished in white gloss, compact W45 × D45 × H85 cm — a profile that fits both apartment and hotel bathroom layouts.

If you need cUPC or CE marking for code-sensitive projects, note that cUPC and CE certification are currently in progress — confirm the timeline with us before you commit volume for regulated jobs.

4. What to do this week

Pull your Q1 sales forecast and flag the basin SKUs that move. Then request a DDP quote for the quantities you'll need through March. As a factory-direct supplier, we can return a quote, lead time, and a spec sheet you can drop straight into your procurement plan — no sample required to evaluate.

The importers who avoid the Q1 stockout are the ones who order in December and January, not the ones who wait for the holiday to expose the gap.
