Buying bathroom fixtures from a Chinese supplier is straightforward once you know the moving parts. This article lays out the quantities, timelines, and payment structures you should expect when sourcing solid surface (artificial stone) pedestal basins, and how our own ordering model works — including the part most suppliers are vague about: who actually makes the product.
Minimum order quantities
We sell in tiers, not single units, on the wholesale side.
- Entry quantity: the smallest quantity we will quote on the trade side. Ask for the current number — it moves with the model and the production schedule.
- Price breaks: the tier sheet lists each breakpoint and the unit price at that level.
- Top tier: reserved for hotel FF&E and distributor stocking orders, negotiated per programme.
What matters more than the specific number is the shape of the sheet: a supplier who publishes every break is easier to plan against than one who quotes a single blended price.
Trade pricing is quoted per model and per quantity rather than published as a single band, because unit cost moves materially with size, finish and order size. Retail across our range is EXW from US$172; door-to-door DDP available on request; trade pricing sits below that and improves with volume. Request the tier sheet for the models you are considering and we will return firm numbers.
B2C retail on the site is different: single units are quoted EXW; door-to-door DDP available on request. The wholesale tiers above apply to trade buyers.
Lead time, honestly
Industry production for cast solid surface sanitary ware runs about 2–4 weeks from confirmed order and deposited payment to crated goods. That excludes transit. Add:
- Ocean to U.S. West Coast: roughly 2–4 weeks.
- U.S. East Coast / Europe: longer, plan an extra week or more.
So a realistic door-to-port timeline for a West Coast project is on the order of 4–8 weeks end to end, before final delivery and installation. Tight hotel schedules should pad this; we will give you a written date and hold to it where capacity allows.
Seasonal note: pre-Chinese-New-Year and peak shipping months compress available vessel space and can stretch transit. Booking early is the cheapest insurance.
Payment terms
Standard structure:
- T/T 30% deposit + 70% against Bill of Lading copy. This is the common pattern and balances risk on both sides.
- L/C (Letter of Credit) for larger orders where your finance team prefers bank-intermediated settlement. We work with confirmed, irrevocable L/C at sight and will specify the wording so your bank and ours agree before goods move.
- Other structures are possible at volume, but we do not start a relationship on open credit.
We are direct about why the deposit exists: it covers committed material and reserved production slots. Because we do not own the foundry, the deposit is what lets us hold dedicated casting capacity for your order instead of filling spot requests.
Sample policy
Before a 100-piece commitment, see the product.
- Paid samples: a sample unit at FOB cost plus freight; the sample cost is typically credited against your first bulk order.
- Evaluation focus: check finish, weight (25–40 kg typical), basin interior depth, and edge quality. These are the places cheap units cut corners.
- Live video inspection: if a physical sample is slow, we can walk the line and a finished unit on camera with you in real time.
We would rather you verify than assume. A sample that disappoints now saves a container that disappoints later.
How we actually operate (the part suppliers skip)
Most buyers eventually ask the question directly: are you a factory or a trading company? Here is the straight answer.
We are not a factory that owns the building. We work with a partner production facility in Guangdong, China and we hold dedicated casting capacity reserved for our orders. On top of that, our own QC team is on site and inspects every unit before crating. That is the model: partner capacity plus our inspection discipline, not a claim of owning the furnace.
Why does this matter to you? Because it is verifiable. You can:
- Visit the facility in person, or
- Join a live video walkthrough of production and packing, or
- Commission third-party inspection (SGS, BV, TUV) at the line or before container stuffing.
We welcome all three. A supplier who is vague about where and how the product is made is the one to watch. We would rather show you.
Certifications — what we have and what is pending
To be clear, with no padding:
- cUPC: not yet. In progress, test report available on request.
- CE: not yet. In progress, test report available on request.
We will not hand you a certificate number we do not hold. When the marks are granted, the documentation will be real and traceable. Until then, we state the status plainly so your specification and compliance team can plan around it.
What we can show today: independent material testing to JC/T 2116-2012 (the Chinese standard for non-ceramic sanitary ware), with a water absorption result of 0.1% against a 0.5% limit and a Barcol hardness of 46 against a 35 minimum. Separately, the raw material — unsaturated polyester resin 201B — is compliant with EU RoHS per SGS report SZXEC23002470101 (RoHS ten items all non-detect). Note that this RoHS result covers the resin raw material, not a finished-product certification.
Reading a tiered quote
A tier sheet should list the unit price at each breakpoint, not a single blended number. The structure looks like this:
| Quantity | Unit price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Entry quantity | Baseline | Smallest trade order |
| First break | Lower | First volume tier |
| Second break | Lower | Second volume tier |
| Top tier | Negotiated | Typical for FF&E / distributors |
Actual numbers differ by model, size and finish — which is why a supplier quoting one flat number across an entire catalogue is usually quoting loosely. Ask for the tier sheet against the specific models you are buying.
Read it carefully: the break applies to the whole order quantity, not just the units above the threshold. A 100-piece order is priced at the 100-piece rate on all 100, not stacked. Always confirm that the tier is all-units-at-that-rate before you sign.
Mixed-model orders and container consolidation
You do not have to fill a container with one model. Within a tier, you can usually mix pedestal models as long as the total piece count reaches the tier — we confirm per-model availability and the resulting pieces-per-40HQ. For a 40HQ we quote the exact count per your mix rather than a fixed figure, because basin dimensions and pedestal heights change the math.
Order communication cadence
After deposit, you should not be guessing. Our standard cadence:
- Production start notice within a few days of deposited payment.
- In-line photos at roughly the 50% mark.
- Pre-crating inspection photos of your specific units.
- Bill of Lading copy on shipment, which triggers the 70% balance.
If a supplier goes silent between deposit and B/L, that is a signal, not a style. Build the cadence into your purchase order.
Ordering readiness table
| Step | Typical action | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Sample | Paid sample or live video | Verify finish, weight, dimensions |
| 2. Quote | Send models + qty + port | Tiered FOB, packing data, pcs/40HQ |
| 3. Deposit | T/T, [定金比例] | Slot reserved |
| 4. Stock allocation / production | [天数] for stock; ask for the balance | In-line + pre-crating QC |
| 5. Balance | [尾款比例] vs B/L copy | Shipment stuffed, docs issued |
| 6. Transit | 2–4 wks to US West | Arrival at destination port |
Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum order? Ask for the current tier sheet — the entry quantity and each price break are quoted per order, and single retail units are quoted EXW from the site; door-to-door DDP is available on request.
How long from deposit to delivery? Confirm the current figure before you sign: stock items dispatch sooner than a balance that has to be produced, and ocean transit to the U.S. West Coast is commonly quoted at 2–4 weeks, longer for the East Coast or Europe. Ask your forwarder for the live transit time on your lane.
What payment do you accept? T/T deposit and balance against B/L copy as standard (ask for the current split); L/C for larger orders.
Can I verify the factory? Yes — in person or by live video, and through third-party inspection (SGS, BV, TUV).
Are your products certified cUPC or CE? Not yet; both are in progress with test reports available. We do not issue certificate numbers we do not hold.
